Anthony is a piano technician with nearly 35 years experience servicing pianos for a list of artists, universities, and well known musicians that is literally too long to count. In May 2016 he semi-retired and is now supporting Darin Beery in the Raleigh-Durham area. A few years before retiring, he joined forces with our team and we decided to merge companies upon his retirement. Anthony played a huge role in shaping our Raleigh-Durham market. Anthony and his wife Barb have been a team in the piano industry together for decades, Barb as a professional piano refinisher. Anthony is proud to be a Registered Piano Technician (RPT), having achieved the highest certification available for a piano technician. We are thrilled to have Anthony as a part of our team, even if it's just part-time. We'll take what we can get!
What is your first memory of the piano?
"Our old Hazelton baby grand piano. As a child, my mother used to put the lid down, throw down a clean cloth and flour, and dry home made pasta on it during the Holidays. I would eat the pasta and she would scold me with the words: " Practice - don't eat the pasta!" I disobeyed my mother and ate the
What was a job you had before being a piano technician that you enjoyed?
"I worked at Mattel Toys for 7 years as a planner and financial analyst. Also played organ in a Latin Rock Group on the west coast for several years."

working on right now?
"Learning to play the
alto saxophone in
What do you want people to remember about you?
"Disciplined in his use of time, generous of spirit, a good and reliable friend and spouse"
What do you do in your free time?
"Listen, play, and compose music; walk, read, do some rather ugly Yoga with my wife, learn to cook plant based recipes."
If you could own any piano, which one would it be?
"I'm truly in love with 1924 Mason & Hamlin BB that I personally rebuilt with the
help a few colleagues. It's all
the piano I will ever need."
If you could live anywhere else, where would it be?
"Cooler, more mountainous surroundings in our beautiful North Carolina"
What piano service or repair do you find really fun to do?
"Just the goal of making my customer's sound and play better after I've serviced it. Whatever that takes, I
would do it.
What was the best concert you ever attended?
"Oscar Peterson and Chick Corea at the Hollywood Bowl both playing Imperial Boseys."
What is the best advice you have received?
"Don't take other's seemingly bad treatment of you personally. Always do your best (although that might vary from time to time), Walk your talk: do what you say. And live by the Golden Rule"
